Centric Bank Contributes $26,250 Through Pennsylvania’s NAP Program

HARRISBURG, PA (July 26, 2021) – Centric Bank is proud to announce it has made $26,250 in donations for the year 2021 to three eligible neighborhood organizations as part of the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) offered by Pennsylvania’s Department of Community & Economic Development. NAP provides businesses with the opportunity to make a contribution to improve a distressed area and earn a tax credit for the donations.

The organizations supported by Centric Bank’s contributions are the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and the Dauphin County Library System in Harrisburg and the Spanish American Civic Association (SACA) in Lancaster.

“Giving back to the community is part of our DNA at Centric Bank, and the opportunity to improve the lives of people in distressed neighborhoods through a partnership with these community organizations, while benefiting from the financial incentives of the Neighborhood Assistance Program is a win-win arrangement.” says Patricia A. Husic, President and CEO.

The donation to Central Pennsylvania Food Bank will help provide more than 120,000 meals to those working hard to get back on their feet in the wake of the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will also be used to help the Food Bank better meet the needs of those disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, including people of color and those residing in Pennsylvania’s most rural communities. The Food Bank has hired an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion consultant to help it better understand and meet the needs of those they serve throughout 27 PA counties.

The Dauphin County Library donation will be used to incorporate pandemic response and social justice initiatives into the planned renovation and expansion of the McCormick Riverfront Library complex.

The SACA donation will be used to complete new homes for resale to first time homebuyers and to provide employment services and training for residents who are in need of upgrading their language skills, education, and job skills to enable them to qualify for high demand, good paying jobs.
