Boyer & Ritter LLC’s Jennifer L. Switzler among nominees for the 28th Annual Tribute to Women of Excellence

B&R honored to host pre-award reception celebrating all 31 nominees

CAMP HILL, PA (January 19, 2017)  – Boyer & Ritter LLC is pleased to announce that Jennifer Switzler, the firm’s first in-house Human Resources Manager, is among 31 women nominated for the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg’s 28th Annual Tribute to Women of Excellence awards.

Jennifer-SwitzlerBoyer & Ritter once again hosted and sponsored a special private reception in January at the YWCA to honor this year’s outstanding class of women who have contributed so much to their community. The official award ceremony will be Thursday, March 23 at the Hershey Lodge. Visit for more information and to buy tickets for the dinner.

“These women truly embody the spirit of service and dedication,’’ said Lisa A. Myers, a principal with Boyer & Ritter and current president of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). “It is a privilege and pleasure to support the YWCA and help recognize these outstanding women who do so much for our community.’’

As Boyer & Ritter’s Human Resources Manager, Switzler plays an integral role in helping the firm attract and retain the region’s top accounting talent. She developed Boyer & Ritter’s successful Career Development Program that focuses on peer mentoring. Her commitment to professional development has been instrumental in the firm’s repeated placement on the list of Best Places to Work in PA.

Switzler brings that same zeal for helping others to the community, where she helps organize Boyer & Ritter’s annual United Way Day of Caring and serves on the board of the Bob Craig Youth Foundation, which provides financial support for programs benefitting the region’s youth. A 10-year member of Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg, she joined the Kiwanis Club of the Greater West Shore in order to serve the community closer to home. In 2015 she helped start a Builders K Club at the New Cumberland Middle School that encourages student service projects.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing from St. Francis University, where she played on the school’s Division 1 volleyball team. At St. Francis, Switzler spearheaded initiatives through the Dorothy Day Outreach Center that benefitted children, the elderly, veterans, the poor and those with special needs.

“I am honored to be included in this outstanding group of women who never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of those living throughout Central Pennsylvania. “My sincere hope is that our efforts will inspire more women to get involved and be a force for good in their communities.’’

The Tribute to Women of Excellence awards ceremony has honored more than 550 women for their contributions to the workplace and community. The annual event has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of YWCA programs for women, children and men.
