Bethesda Mission has announced that they will be using volunteers to help distribute this year’s Christmas dinner to some of the local poor and needy.  While Bethesda is still planning to serve a Christmas dinner at the Men’s Shelter, located at 611 Reily Street , others, who cannot make it to the Mission , will have a hot, nutritious meal delivered right to their doorstep.  The delivery is available within a five-mile radius of the Mission .

Stated Chuck Wingate, executive director of the Mission , “We are excited about extending our Christmas meal to those in need who have no way of coming to the Mission for it.  This year, we are once again offering home delivery for those people who are either sick or unable to make the trip to the Mission .  If there are other legitimate reasons why someone cannot come to the Mission , we will see that they get a meal, as well.”

Wingate continued, “All a person needs to do to make sure that they will get a meal on Christmas day, is call 257-4442, ext. 222 (Debbie).  Let her know that you need a meal delivered on Christmas and she will then complete a short form with the caller, identifying address, size of family, etc.  It is very important for people to call the Mission by Thursday, December 24, if they want to be included on the schedule of delivered meals.”

Along with the delivered meals, Bethesda Mission will also be serving a traditional Christmas dinner at the Men’s Shelter, located at 611 Reily Street , Harrisburg .  The time for the meal at the Mission is from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.  Everyone is invited!
