“A great place to work is created by the people in our organization—employees who foster trust, respect and camaraderie, and embrace and appreciate diversity and each other. We have a talented and wide-ranging workforce, with our employees representing the multiracial, multi-generational, cultural and ethnic communities we serve,” states Ann Gormley, senior vice president, Human Resources, PinnacleHealth. “Each of our nearly 6,000 employees is part of our success as high-quality health system.”

The list features both U.S. healthcare provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of healthcare-specific companies, like consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more. A version of this list has been published every year since 2011, but this is the third year the list features both providers and non-provider organizations.

The Becker’s Healthcare editorial team determined the organizations included on this year’s list. Organizations that submitted nominations were considered, as were organizations that received national, state or local recognition previously earned for workplace excellence, as well as benefits offerings, wellness initiatives, and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community among employees.

PinnacleHealth has also been recognized by American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) as a top employer for workers over 50 and by the American Heart Association as a Gold Fit-Friendly Workplace.
