Barley Snyder Quickly Grows Gettysburg Office

When Barley Snyder opened its Gettysburg office in 2017, the law firm envisioned strategically expanding its services and offerings to the Adams County business community over time.

It just didn’t expect such strong success so quickly.

Because of the firm’s rapid growth in one of the most historic regions of the country, Barley Snyder has hired two new attorneys, a paralegal and a legal administrative assistant to help grow the office and continue the success it has already experienced.

Harold Eastman

Harold A. Eastman Jr. of Biglerville and Adam D. Boyer of Gettysburg both join the office as attorneys, and Marianne Drummond of Gettysburg joins the firm as a paralegal. The three worked together at a Gettysburg law firm previously. The firm has also hired Alicia Barrow to support the increased activity at the Gettysburg location.

Following his graduation from the University of Richmond School of Law, Eastman has practiced in Gettysburg and the Adams County area for 32 years. He’s served as the borough solicitor for Gettysburg since 1999, has been the borough solicitor in New Oxford for over 25 years and serves as the solicitor for a number of municipal zoning boards throughout Adams County. He has an active real estate practice and is a licensed title insurance agent.

Adam Boyer

“The resources Barley Snyder can provide us in serving our clients are unparalleled,” Eastman said. “This is a great opportunity for us and for our clients.”

Boyer has thick roots in Adams County, as his family has lived and farmed in the York Springs area for seven generations. He returned to the region after graduating from the Villanova University School of Law and works in trusts and estates, including helping family agricultural businesses work on transition planning. He also works in general real estate transactions and represents a variety of family businesses and local nonprofits.

Drummond has worked in the legal industry for 30 years and earned her master’s degree in English from Shippensburg University. In addition to her work as a paralegal, she’s also taught argument writing at a local college.

Marianne Drummond

“The addition of Harry, Adam and Marianne puts us in an optimal position to continue the success we’ve had in Gettysburg and Adams County,” Barley Snyder managing partner Jeff Lobach said. “Harry and Adam are well-known and respected throughout the county, and bring a thorough local knowledge to the firm. We’re very pleased to have them on our team.”

Barley Snyder opened its first office in Gettysburg in 2017. When the firm hired longtime and respected Gettysburg attorney Robert McQuaide and legal administrative assistant Mary “Betsy” Kane in 2018, it moved to a new, larger office, the current location at 123 Baltimore St. near the Adams County Courthouse.

“Our nearly instant success in Gettysburg has exceeded even what we envisioned,” Lobach said. “It’s a credit to the Barley Snyder brand and all of our attorneys and staff who have worked in Gettysburg and Adams County to make the firm visible and viable. We believe having Harry, Adam and Marianne as part of our team will accelerate that success. And with the support and resources of the rest of the firm, we expect Adams County to continue to be a very successful market for us.”
