Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that attorney David Walker has been appointed to the Labor and Employment Committee of the National School Boards Association, Council of School Attorneys.
The Council of School Attorneys supports school attorneys in their representation of public school boards by providing leadership in legal advocacy for public schools. On the Labor and Employment Committee, Walker will help advise the council on these issues pertinent to school boards across the country.
“School boards everywhere often have difficulty navigating labor and employment issues,” Walker said. “Whether it be the threat of a labor dispute or the complex issues caused by the pandemic, school boards look to their national association for guidance. I’m proud to be part of a group that can help school boards navigate so many complicated topics.”
Walker is a member of the firm’s Education and Employment practice groups and his work includes assisting school boards with labor negotiations. He is also a member of the board of directors at the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Lancaster program.
