Recognized South Carolina attorneys Stephen A. Spitz and Irish “Ryan” Neville joined Saxton & Stump, launching the firm’s first out-of-state office in Charleston. Both attorneys are well-established in the business and legal communities – Spitz for more than 40 years and Neville for more than 15 – and they will continue to practice under the name Spitz & Neville.
“Both Steve and Ryan have tremendous experience, great reputations and significant relationships in Charleston and throughout South Carolina,” said CEO James W. Saxton. “We are pleased to have them join our firm while maintaining their brand identity in this important new market. In addition to gaining two great attorneys, this also presents an opportunity to expand the reach of the services provided through our affiliate companies in the South.”
Spitz and Neville work closely with individuals, businesses, in-house counsel, co-counsel, and insurance adjusters on matters involving commercial litigation, business, commercial and contract law, real estate, insurance, and appeals. They share Saxton & Stump’s core values and approach to providing five-star client service. The move broadens the scope of legal services Spitz & Neville can provide to clients, which now includes mergers & acquisitions, employee benefits and executive compensation, information privacy and cybersecurity, intellectual property, internal investigations, attorney and judicial ethics and discipline, white collar defense and federal tax law.
“We’ve known Jim for several years and have admired Saxton & Stump’s growth and strategic business model,” said Neville, who is now a shareholder at Saxton & Stump. “It made sense for us to join forces to enhance the services we could offer our clients in South Carolina while also tapping into shared centralized resources to take our client service to the next level.”
In addition, Spitz & Neville’s clients will have access to comprehensive professional services through Saxton & Stump’s affiliate companies including Granite Governance, Risk, and Compliance Consulting, which provides healthcare-focused consulting on corporate governance, risk management and information security; Granite HR Consulting, a human resources center; Granite Creative Group, a full-service marketing agency; and Optimal Dispute Resolutions, a company that offers private alternatives to litigation including mediations and arbitrations.
