Appalachian Brewing Company Receives CREDC Financing Assistance to Expand Soda Manufacturing Line

The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC (Chamber & CREDC) announced today  that Appalachian Brewing Company (ABC) closed on a $1,762,000 SBA 504 loan to support the expansion of the company’s craft soda line.  ABC began operations in 1997 as a brewery manufacturing operation with an on-site brewpub restaurant at Cameron St, Harrisburg, PA.  The company has since grown to multiple brewpub locations throughout South Central and Eastern PA including but not limited to locations in Lititz, Gettysburg, and Collegeville.  The company has grown their manufacturing operation as well to include numerous varieties of craft beer and more recently to include craft soda.

The SBA 504 loan proceeds are part of a nearly $4.3 million project which purchased over $1 million in new equipment, purchased vacant property on the Carlisle Pike, Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County, PA, and improved that property to become the company’s 7th brew pub location as well as the new manufacturing hub for soda production. The SBA 504 loan leveraged another $2.5 million from equity and bank financing provided by Centric Bank.

The Chamber & CREDC has formed a strategic partnership with the South Eastern Economic Development Company of PA to provide SBA 504 loans to our region.  As a result of this arrangement, The Chamber & CREDC provides borrowers local representation, as well as a closing attorney that’s close to home.
