State College, PA, April 29, 2016 . . . Alexander Building Construction Co., part of The Butz Family of Companies, recently completed four major commercial restoration projects in Central Pennsylvania. The projects included renovations to the following properties:
- Verizon Wireless Made Simple (Bellefonte, PA)
- Nittany Eye Associates (State College, PA)
- Fasta & Ravioli Co. (Pleasant Gap, PA)
- Mt Laurel Day Care & Preschool (Bellwood, PA)
The Verizon Wireless Made Simple property, located in Bellefonte’s historic downtown area, had suffered structural and smoke damage due to a recent fire within the building. Alexander’s restoration division provided a complete gut of the store and subsequently provided new finishes as well as electrical, plumbing and heating systems while bringing the building up to code.
“I was most impressed with how Alexander’s team was able to maintain the historic, century-old architecture of the original building,” said Dave Hewitt, building owner.

For Nittany Eye Associates, Alexander’s team repaired the exterior façade, interior exam rooms and all ancillary spaces that was damaged by a vehicle impact. All of the work was completed while maintaining normal business operations.
“Alexander’s team did an impeccable job of working with the insurance company and performing the work without disrupting our daily operations,” said Dr. Mike Talone, a doctor with Nittany Eye Associates.

The Fasta & Ravioli Co. restoration job included full fire and smoke restoration within the commercial food manufacturer’s building. Features of the job included demolition of damaged building materials, ozone treatment, dry-ice blasting, smoke sealing and significant commercial kitchen equipment cleaning.
Mt Laurel Daycare and Preschool sustained significant interior smoke damage due to a structure fire from a neighboring property. Alexander’s restoration team worked around the clock to professionally clean and abate the smoke damage. The children were able to return to the daycare for normal operations five days after the loss.
“Alexander was very professional, prompt and easy to work with,” said Brenda Flaugh-Talko, Owner of Mt Laurel Daycare and Preschool. “I appreciated all the aspects of the clean-up that were covered and it was essentially stress-free on my end.”
Alexander’s Restoration and Special Services division expands on a similar service that their sister company, Alvin H. Butz, Inc., has provided to Eastern Pennsylvania for the last 90 years. The service is available to business and residential home owners alike. An emergency 24/7 call center (814-237-6059) is available, allowing potential clients an immediate contact any time of the day or night.
