Harrisburg, PA, March 17, 2015 . . . Alexander Building Construction Co., a Butz Family Company, was recently awarded a construction management assignment for Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. Full preconstruction and construction services will be provided for the renovation of an existing residence hall on campus.
The 27,800-square-foot renovation will be completed at Wesley Hall, originally built in 1956. The project is valued at approximately $6,000,000 and will include the conversion of the existing double-room dormitory layout into suite-style living quarters with private bathrooms. The newly-renovated residence hall will also accommodate Lycoming’s Affinity Housing program.
“Our goal is to continuously look for ways to improve student life on campus,” said Jeff Bennett, VP of Finance and Administration at Lycoming College. “We were impressed with Alexander’s approach to the project and are confident that the Alexander team will help us achieve that goal for Wesley Hall.”
The renovation will occur over the summer break in the academic schedule with completion to occur prior to the 2015-2016 academic year.
Alexander is also managing the construction of a three-story, 31,000-square-foot addition to the College’s science building, which includes a new planetarium and will house the school’s astronomy, geology and physics programs.
“We are honored to be entrusted to construct this key project for Lycoming College,” said Rick Seitz, President of Alexander Building Construction Co. “The project will require innovative solutions and a fast-track approach to meet the schedule, and we have a great team in place to make that happen.”
