Christopher M. Merkey, who served as the controller for four area automotive dealerships, is bringing his more than 20 years of industry experience to Boyer & Ritter CPAs and Consultants.
Merkey joins Boyer & Ritter as a manager in the firm’s Dealership Service Group, which serves more than 270 dealerships and is among the largest specialized automotive dealership accounting practices in the Mid-Atlantic community.
“Dealerships are in a highly competitive market and face unique challenges,’’ Merkey said. “I look forward to using what I learned working within the industry to help Boyer & Ritter’s clients realize their strategic goals.’’
After graduating cum laude in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bloomsburg University, Merkey joined Manderbach Ford in Hamburg, Pa., as its controller, a position he subsequently held with two other dealerships. Before joining Boyer & Ritter, Merkey was the controller for Carlisle-based Kenworth of Pennsylvania, a truck sales, equipment and service company.
“Chris Merkey brings a wealth of expertise to our firm, and we know he will be a great asset to our clients,’’ said Boyer & Ritter Principal Daniel P. Thompson, who chairs the Dealership Service Group. “Dealerships come to our firm because they know our professionals understand their industry and how to help them succeed.’’
