CAMP HILL, Pa. – Holy Spirit –A Geisinger Affiliate raised more than $100,000 at its 21st Annual Golf Tournament. More than 300 golfers and volunteers participated in the event held at Hershey Country Club. Corporate sponsors, local businesses and individual donors supported the golf tournament, which is one of Holy Spirit’s largest annual fundraisers held to benefit hospital projects and community programs.

Holy Spirit’s new inpatient pediatrics unit is an extension of the services provided at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. The Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Holy Spirit greatly enhances the hospital’s ability to care for pediatric patients for extended periods of time and represents Holy Spirit’s continuing commitment to providing needed medical services.

“With the opening of the new Janet Weis Children’s Hospital unit at Holy Spirit, the children in south central Pennsylvania will not only have access to top-notch pediatric care in a first-rate facility, but they and their families will benefit from being closer to home during their hospital stays and for follow-up care,” said Benjamin Kuhn, M.D., associate physician, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, and Geisinger Regional Pediatric Director South Central Region, and keynote speaker at the tournament dinner.
