Global infrastructure and engineering firm Gannett Fleming has appointed Joelle Shea to the role of Corporate Communications Manager. She is responsible for developing and executing integrated internal and external communications that support the firm’s strategic action plan and advance thought leadership.
“Joelle will lead our growing communications team to ensure Gannett Fleming’s strategic initiatives are expertly represented to our clients and teaming partners,” said Judy Hricak, CPSM, CiPP, vice president and chief communications officer. “Her appointment demonstrates Gannett Fleming’s commitment to recognizing exceptional employees by providing career advancement opportunities.”
A valued member of Gannett Fleming since 2017, Shea works closely with operations teams to promote their successes. She serves on the inaugural steering committee of Connected Women at Gannett Fleming™, an employee resource group that aims to create a culture that empowers, supports, and mentors women to achieve career and personal success. Additionally, she is the chair of the Connected Ambassadors program, made up of more than 65 representatives throughout the firm. Shea is a member of the Gannett Fleming Smart Cities Steering Committee and is a recently appointed Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee liaison.
Shea earned a Bachelor of Arts in media studies from The Catholic University of America and a Master of Arts in communications from Georgetown University. Active in professional associations, she holds a leadership position with the Pennsylvania Public Relations Society and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America at the national and state levels.
