2019 Catalyst Awards | Emerging Business Leader Award Winner: Blake Lynch

The Harrisburg Bureau of Police recognized an opportunity to fortify its mission by engaging a dedicated civilian liaison – a bridge to facilitate communication and cooperation between Harrisburg’s police officers, its citizens and community partners. With sincerity and focus Blake Lynch was their choice. A gifted communicator with a passion for the Harrisburg community and unyielding dedication to the Bureau’s mission.

In less than two years, he has transformed his role as the City’s Community Policing Coordinator, into a driving force for positive partnerships between Harrisburg’s citizens, and law enforcement who risk their lives daily to protect them. Blake works earnestly to address quality of life issues on behalf of the residents, with his partner, Corporal Josh Hammer, and other officers of the Community Policing Unit everyday. Through their hard work and leadership there has been a noticeable change in the views of residents, business owners, and those who serve in and throughout the city.

Prior to joining the department, Blake served as the Director of Development for the Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg. Prior to his work in the nonprofit sector, Blake served as the Corporate and Government Sales Manager of the Hilton Harrisburg, and Program Administrator for the City of Harrisburg underformer Mayor Linda Thompson.

Blake has been a lifelong resident of the Capital region, graduating from Susquehanna Township and went on to attend Messiah College, majoring in Public Relations.

Blake serves on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Health Center, the United States Commission on Civil Rights, the Advisory Board for the First National Bank of Pennsylvania (F.N.B Bank), and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. He is also a board member of the Boys Scouts of America, New Freedom Council.

Today he resides in the Harrisburg area with his wife, Bryttani, and their two sons Blake Jr. and Brendan. In addition, Blakeand his wife also serve as ReliefHouseparents’ at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Blake always has a positive, unyielding attitude to do good and help others.
