Keystone Mobility, Inc. to Expand in Hummelstown

HARRISBURG, PA (June 28, 2011) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (HRC/CREDC) announced that it provided $245,000 in financing through the SBA 504 Loan Program for Keystone Mobility, Inc. to acquire real estate and expand the business.

Keystone Mobility, Inc. was founded in 1990 by David Sterling shortly after his wife was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and started to use a motorized scooter.  David started by repairing various components of his wife's equipment until he finally created the company, which now specializes in the sale, service, and installation of handicap equipment, motorized scooters, and lifts.

Keystone Mobility is still family-owned and operated by Andrew and Cindy Sterling.  The SBA 504 loan, along with financing from M&T Bank, has permitted Keystone Mobility to acquire the new property.  The Sterling's plan is to provide the company with increased, more diversified product lines, additional storage, more efficient and timely installations, and overall, more satisfied, comfortable customers and families.

The financing package provided by the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation and M&T Bank leveraged a total economic impact of $587,000. The project is expected to retain 8 full time jobs and create 3 new jobs.

Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries, a member of the CREDC Board commented, "This financing will not only make it possible for family-owned Keystone Mobility, Inc. to expand its business and offer a wider range of products for its customers, but it will also stimulate job and economic growth in Dauphin County."
