The Harrisburg Technology Corridor Enterprise Zone Receives Recertification
HARRISBURG (January 21, 2011) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC announced today that the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development awarded the organization a recertification of the Harrisburg Technology Corridor Enterprise Zone for another eight years. The previous zone was set to expire on July 1, 2011.
This new zone will focus primarily on properties within the region that are most in need of investment. Overall, the new zone, which includes properties in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties, has a smaller and more concentrated footprint centered around properties and tracts that have the greatest need for financial incentives.
Additional areas where the new zone has been extended include:

All commercial and industrial properties within the City of Harrisburg
CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The Silver Spring Industrial Park

Industrial areas in the Borough of Lemoyne

Additional properties around Mount Holly Springs

Additional properties in the Borough of Shippensburg
The Technology Corridor Enterprise Zone will emphasize manufacturing and industrial development as well as the business technology solutions sector.
Businesses located within the Technology Corridor Enterprise Zone are eligible for a number of benefits including:

Priority consideration for programs administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development

Low Interest financing for equipment and real estate purchases and renovation

Eligibility to apply for tax credits on improvements made to business property within the zone

Designation as a socially and economically restricted business on state contracts

Availability of assistance for clean-up under Act II
