Chamber Business Women Announce Two New Chairs
Beth Romanski and Amina Kim Named 2009 Chamber Business Women Co-Chairs
HARRISBURG (FEBRUARY 12, 2009) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC welcomes Beth Romanski of Central Pennsylvania College, and Amina Kim of Harristown Development Corporation to the Co-Chair positions of the Chamber Business Women Operations Committee. The two women were elected by the committee this past December.
Beth Romanski has been with Central Pennsylvania College as a Continuing Education Admissions Counselor since 2007. Beth has been a member of the CBW upon joining Central Penn. Beth holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from the University of Delaware. She is Chair of the Healthy Cooking and Nutrition Committee at Central Pennsylvania College. Beth is also active in the community volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey and the Hershey Theatre. She is currently working towards a Human Resources certificate offered at Central Penn.
Amina Kim is the Director of Development Services of Harristown Development Corporation (HDC) where she has been involved in the planning, funding and development of a variety of HDC's projects. Amina is a graduate of the Centre Pédagogique Regional, Rabat, Morocco and the Urban Land Institute, Real Estate Development School, Washington, DC. She is also a graduate of Leadership Harrisburg Area Class of 2006. She is a board member of the Institute for Cultural Partnerships, a member of the Urban Land Institute Central Pennsylvania Committee, and a business mentor for Harrisburg University for Science and Technology. Amina frequently volunteers to make presentations on international, cultural, and diversity issues within the community, and has spoken to a wide variety of community organizations including Dauphin County Diversity Forum, World Trade Center of Central Pennsylvania, Hershey World Culture Club, International House Harrisburg, Harrisburg School District, Mechanicsburg Areas Senior High School, Harrisburg Area Community College, and the Girl Scouts of America.
"As professional women, I feel that we have already come so far, but we still face unique challenges and we have so much to offer our organizations and the community. There are diverse and amazing women in this area, all of whom can benefit personally and professionally from the events that the CBW holds throughout the year," said Romanski.
The mission of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC's Chamber Business Women (CBW) is to promote progression and advancement of businesswomen through education and sharing of ideas and experiences. The only requirement for membership to the CBW is to be a member, in good standing, with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC. Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC prospective members can attend events, but at the non-member rate. Prospective members can not serve on the CBW committee.
The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC serves as a catalyst for promoting growth and quality of life in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry Counties by providing a unique blend of business, community and economic development and advocacy services under one roof to boost our economic vitality and livability as a region.
