Executive Director of Murata Business Center Quoted in National Publication
HARRISBURG (December 11, 2008) - Karen Gunnison, the Executive Director of the Murata Business Center in Carlisle, was quoted in the NBIA (National Business Incubation Association) Review's October 2008 issue.
Gunnison stated in the artille, "We've recently been able to generate attention to our center by sponsoring a business plan competition. The winner receives six months free rent here, as well as other valuable services that are being donated (e.g. legal, accounting, marketing, HR, etc.). We get some press from the event, plus all of the applicants to the contest - whether they win or not - are potential clients." Gunnison was referring to the Murata Great Business Challenge held earlier in the year. Cruzstar, the winner of the business competition, took advantage of the six months free rent and has decided to renew their lease.
The Murata Business Center is located in the Keystone Innovation Zone and the Technology Corridor Enterprise Zone, two state programs that may provide assistance in the form of tax credits, assistance seeking investment or financing help at later stages of business development.
The Murata Business Center is owned and operated by the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC).The Murata Business Center provides entrepreneurs with support services.
