Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Announces 2008 Board Officers
Mike Murchie Named 2008 Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board Chair and Matt Steck Named 2008 CREDC Board Chair
HARRISBURG (JANUARY 9, 2008) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Board of Directors announced their 2008 Board Chairs. Mike Murchie will serve as Chair, Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and Matt Steck will serve as Chair, CREDC Board of Directors for 2008.
Mike Murchie is a senior vice president for M&T Bank Corporation and a regional president for M&T Bank. He is responsible for leading M&T's Community Banking initiative within the 11-county region of Central and Western Pennsylvania and also is directly responsible for Commercial Banking operations in this region. In addition, he is responsible for M&T‘s Community Banking Initiative in Northern Pennsylvania. Mike received his master's of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He began his banking career with M&T Bank in Buffalo in 1991 as a commercial real estate lender. Mike relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1996 to launch M&T's commercial real estate operation in the Pacific Northwest. While in Oregon, he became a founding member of the Portland Affordable Housing Trust. In 2001, he relocated to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to lead the commercial real estate lending team in Pennsylvania. In February 2002, he became president of Central and Western Pennsylvania.
Matt Steck , partner at Greenlee Partners, LLC joined the firm thirteen years ago. Matt directs the firm 's work on legislation and regulations before Pennsylvania State Government. Before joining the Greenlee, he served four years as Vice President for Government Relations for the Professional Insurance Agents Association of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. Prior to entering the lobbying and government affairs arena, Matt was a legislative specialist for the Pennsylvania Senate Office of President Pro Tempore, served as Executive Director of the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and was Harrisburg staff assistant to a member of the state Senate. In addition, Matt worked on several successful Senate and House campaigns. Matt is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a B.A. in Government Administration.

The additional slate of 2008 Harrisburg Regional Chamber Officers is as follows: Vice-Chair - Sandi Loy-Bell, Skelly & Loy, Inc; 2 nd Vice Chair - Russ Swanger, HARSCO; Treasurer - Terry Lehman, bmc ;Secretary - Dr. Madlyn Hanes, Penn State Harrisburg and RRP - Maryann Chiavetta, Benatec Associates.
The additional slate of 2008 CREDC Officers is as follows: Vice-Chair - Kelly Powell-Logan, AES/PHEAA; 2 nd Vice Chair - Chip Brown, McClure Company; Treasurer - Gary Stouffer, Rettew Associates, Inc. and Secretary - Sue Pera, Cornerstone Coffeehouse & Culinary Kitchen.
