The Harrisburg Regional Chamber was initially known as the Harrisburg
Board of Trade and was founded in the late 1800s. In 1912, it was decided
that the organization should be formally incorporated as a Chamber
of Commerce and by 1913 that official designation was given to the
organization. The interesting fact, however, is that though the name
has changed, the concept and objectives have remained constant throughout
this entire history.
Recognized as one of the largest, most dynamic organizations of its kind, the
Harrisburg Regional Chamber has combined a unique blend of business, community,
and economic development services under one roof to improve the region's economic
vitality and quality of life.
